The funeral for Dora Button, 96, of Chatfield, will be on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chatfield, with Rev. Preston Paul officiating. There will be a spring burial at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Chatfield.

Mrs. Button died Friday, March 4, 2011, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester where she had been for three days.

Dora Metta Block was born on May 13, 1914, in Chatfield, to August and Anna M. (Jackson) Block. She married Monroe Button on June 27, 1942, in Chatfield. He died on May 17, 1998.

Dora was a lifetime Chatfield resident, and a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran Alter Guild, Ladies Aid, Chatfield Historical Society, Child Health Study Club. She enjoyed gardening, and all outdoor activities, and baking.

Dora is survived by her son, Earl (Sue) Button of Monroe, Wis.; four grandchildren, John (Sarah) Button of Aurora, Ill., Heidi (Stefan) Smith of Belleville, Wis., Heather (Detlef) Wehner of Mainz, Germany, and Julie (Tony) Albright of Aurora, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Joenke and Fleya Wehner of Mainz, Germany; and Eli Button of Aurora, Ill.; one nephew, Claude (Kathy) Moore of Chatfield; two nieces, Mary Lou (Bob) Reevs of Lincoln, Neb., and Barbara Rahn of Utica, Minn. Dora was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Walter, and one sister, Alzada Moore.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chatfield.
