She was born in Burke County, Georgia on March 17, 1927 to the late James Thaxter Lively and Julia Verlinda Smith Lively. She worked as a Staff Assistant for the Florida Department of Revenue Child Support Enforcement Unit in Ocala, Florida, from which she retired. She was a member of Riverside Church of Christ, 401 Murrah Road, North Augusta, South Carolina. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the America Revolution, the Botsford Joy Group and the Burke County Travelers. Her poems of nostalgia and inspiration touched the lives of her friends, family and the lucky strangers who stumbled upon her works. The following poem from her book gives a glimpse into her faith and her love of family: PEACE The peace that He gives to us Is filled with Love and Trust. As the glowing sun rises in the East it fills my heart with Joy and Peace. A daily walk takes me out past a sleepy town as it begins to awake, Down through the meadow to a mist covered little lake. A Mother goose and her goslings enjoy an early morning swim. The birds are singing royal from the highest tree limb. Morning doves cooing to each other, as they feed from the ground. Frisky squirrels chasing another, happy as they run around. Retracing my steps morning smells tickle my nose, Joy and Peace within swells and restores my soul. Looking back over the years of toil and sweat, that it took to raise a family with no regret. As the sun begins to sink slowly in the West I'll lay my head down to a peaceful rest. "Peace I leave with you. My Peace I give to you" John 14:27 NKJV She is survived by her five children: Dr. M. Thaxter Dickey, (Wanda) of Temple Terrace, Florida, Professor at Florida Christian College and minister at the Antioch Church of Christ, Thonotosassa, Florida, Dennis Lively Dickey (Wende) of Waynesboro, Georgia, minister at the Riverside Church of Christ, North Augusta, South Carolina, Ben S.
